Charles asks…
Why do “health nuts” on yahoo answers go over the top?
OK all of you fucking people that answer my questions on yahoo answers about health are nuts. A. You think white bread makes you fat when in fact it is a LIE. Eating more calories than your body requires makes you gain weight not the food!!!! IDIOTS!
Wize Guy answers:
A. If you think these guys are nuts, then why are you asking them questions?
B. I read your question about white bread causing weight gain. Only like 1 or 2 people said that it did.
Either way, I must agree with you. White bread does not cause weight gain. It’s just that wheat bread and stuff is much better for you.
Wow. You sound like a pissed off 12 year old. How old are you really?

Nancy asks…
Why do people ask questions on Yahoo about serious health issues?
Everyone who asks questions in this forum has internet access. With multiple search engines at their fingertips, and respectable websites full of reliable information, why do people ask questions about serious medical conditions and rely on the answers of others who are usually not experts? Some advice I’ve seen has been downright dangerous. On occasion that bad advice is actually chosen as a ‘best answer’. What makes people use this forum rather than asking their own health care provider or seeking answers on reliable medical websites?

Wize Guy answers :
I’ve noticed this. There is a similar phenomenon in the”Law and Ethics” section.
My guess is people are lazy. People are afraid of doctors. Yahoo Answers can give people the illusion of control. People like to ask a real perso questions then look things up.

Yahoo health says that I may be suffering from major deperssion?
I thought that I was doing better these days… what gives?

Wize Guy answers :
Perhaps those answers were junk answers.
Perhaps you might want to peruse the Full Disclaimer at the bottom of the page below all the flags where it says that Yahoo!7 does not evaluate or guarantee the accuracy of any Yahoo!7 Answers content.
There is some good advice in that Full Disclaimer.

Richard asks…
Should there be a required reading page before asking questions on yahoo mental health?
Seriously I understand some are not as enlightened as others, but if you are asking about side effects to meds you will have obviously only a trial on yourself would reveal the answer, These are the questions that should be limited I think, as anyones advice to the contrary is simply an opinion whether educated or not, and could potentially stray someone away from a path they should have taken.

Michael asks…
Why does everything in the Yahoo Answers Men’s Health section have to be about penises?
Seriously. Why don’t they just call it Yahoo Answers > Health > Penis? It’s insane. Do guys have any other health concerns?
FYI, I am a guy. I’m not against males or anything. I understand reproductive organs and sexual health are important, but it does not seem like everyone is truly concerned about that. It’s more like “My points points 2 degree left of center. What should I do?” or “How can I make my penis bigger” or “Will ____ make my penis bigger?”.
Wize Guy answers:
Why shouldn’t it be about penises? We don’t have boobs or vaginas and there’s no point in us discussing tampons?
Seems we’re a healthy non complaining lot, so could anything be more important than our penis?
Seems we like it this way, so sane it is!
Well maybe not to you, but your not a guy, so go to where you find it more interesting, of the many categories that there are for you to choose from.
You could go to women’s health where you won’t need to see the word penis. At least as far as I’m aware? ;- ) Ha ha!
Cat ..are you confused..typical feministic jargon! What would you know of security? A horse blanket? Ha ha!
Have fun.
Me! :- )
