Swimming Pools Archives

I’ve had my pug for 7 years, and we also have a 5 year old labrador. We recently bought a small plastic swimming pool for dogs at our local pet store, and our labrador loves it, but our pugs won’t go near it.
One day she stepped in soda I spilled on the floor and her paw became crusty, so I took her out to the pool to wash it off, but when I held her over the pool to dip her crusty paw in, she kinda swam in air. She doggy paddled above the water, and although it was funny because I had seen dogs do this on those Funniest Video shows, I got concerned because she won’t even walk near the pool now.
Is this normal for small dogs?

I have 2 APBT and one loves water the other super scared. Of course she is only 6 months old but, still youhave to take your dog around water alot for them to aclimate. They usually wont just like water right off the bat. I have started walking her alot around water and after she watched my other dog play so much she eventually now has started drinking from our little pool and gradually putting herself in. Just takes time

j/w, the school is huge, and they spend millions on women soccer fields…..not to mention it is very hot/humid in the area where they should @ least spend money on a swimming pool

Why don’t you use the pond in the park as a swimming pool/shower, that way you don’t have to buy your own!!?

Hi! Watch these two beautiful villas in Tuscany: “Villa Centopino” ( http://www.agriturismocentopino.it/en/villa-centopino-en.html ) and “Villa le Capanne” ( http://www.agriturismocentopino.it/agriturismo-in-toscana/ville-2010/farm-in-tuscany-villa-le-capanne/ ).
Both Villas have a private swimming pool (exclusive use) and the Villa Centopino also has jacuzzi.
At this time both villas are fully booked until October 2010. But in October are still available.

I would suggest that you first level the ground as best you can, certainly you should remove all stones/rocks first. Spread about 2/3 inches,(5/7cm) of sand in such a way that it will protrude 6 inches,(15cm) beyond the edge of the pool.
