If you are a fan of art work then you are always on the look out for rising young artists as well as established legends. However, sometimes you find artists that you not only relate to on an art level but there is something that goes a lot deeper than this. Sometimes it is down to the personality of the artist for example, as artists like Julius Shulman have had a lot of public praise whilst being bashed by critics.

Rolf Harris is an artist that is loved by your average family. Mainly this is as a result of his hit songs and TV programmes like Animal Hospital. Rolf Harris is also a prolific painter and has even been given the honour of painting the Queen. Rolf’s likable personality comes across in everything he does, that is why he is such a successful celebrity. Because of this Rolf Harris prints have sold very well in the UK.

British artist David Shepherd paints landscapes, animals and steam trains. He is a big steam train enthusiast but is best known for his conservation work. He even started up the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and has been awarded an OBE for services to the conservation of wildlife. Many of artist David Shepherd prints raise awareness of conservation problems.

Sylvia Ji is an interesting young artist from San Francisco. Sylvia Ji prints and paintings are provocative and frequently use a range of themes and styles that wouldn’t seem out of place in a tattoo parlour. Unlike other urban artists Sylvia Ji has embraced the use of social networking sites like Facebook to promote herself and her prints. This has made her art increasingly popular, as people can talk to her and relate to her on a more personal level.
