It is very attractive for Danes to buy a house in Sweden for living or as a house for leisure time. We call it an ødegård i Sverige, and the access to ødegårde i Sverige has been used of Danes for decades as a second home.
After the bridge between Denmark and Sweden was build it is much faster to come from Denmark to Sweden – hinsidan as it is called in Swedish. That means that in the holyday time many Danes are moving to Sweden to their torp. The Swedish houses in the countryside are often situated in beautiful nature because such parts of Sweden have been the places where most country houses were deserted because of difficulties with the economy.
Especially the Swedish forests have now many deserted houses for sale. They are situation in the parts of Sweden called Småland, Blekinge and Halland, and partly in Skåne that is the nearest county to Denmark. It should not be too difficult to find of the deserted farm houses for sale: ødegårde til salg i Sverige, to get access to buy a nice Swedish house.
A part from the many Danes who are living in Denmark and have their second home in Sweeden many Danes have moved to Sweden and bought a house or a flat in Sweden, especially in the city of Malmø and along the cost of Øresund. Such a house or flat is cheaper than to buy a comparable house in Denmark and with the train connection between Denmark and Sweeden it is easy to shuttle from the new Swedish home to the work in Denmark, mainly in the areas of Copenhagen (København) and Helsinore (Helsingør).
