Sharon asks…
Does anyone know if Yahoo has a Real Estate Propection Program?
I am trying to look at an apt but they want me to wire money through Yahoo Real Estate, saying that the money has to be wired through Money Gram. Is this legit?

Wize Guy answers:
This does not sound ligit to me. You sould be able to look at the apartment without any commitment of money.
If you are interested in the apartment, you should be provided with a rental application. (again, this should be free) Upon submitting the application, you may be asked for an application fee, but this should only be around $35 or so.
You should only release a deposit for the apt when you sign the lease and get the keys.
Good luck,
Kevin

Mary asks…
How is it that Yahoo! Real Estate is allowed to publish false real estate facts?
Yahoo has a featured story today linked to the url http://realestate.yahoo.com/Real_estate_news/story?s=rytimes/item-4bcc1fc619fd6bf106034420ddf198de.html How is it that Yahoo! is allowed to post such misleading information about the housing market and post no writer’s name? The information posted in this editorial is posted as fact. Shouldn’t that be illegal? How does Yahoo! get away with it?
For instance, in this editorial, an anonymous Yahoo! Real Estate staff writer states that “There is no housing bubble.” The facts are very clear that this is the biggest real estate bubble in history. This misinformation could lead more people into losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would Yahoo! do this to their users? Could this be why Yahoo! is falling so far behind Google?
Clearly, before Yahoo! Real Estate presents what they believe to be fact before millions of users, shouldn’t they cite things like the Shiller Graph which define, without a doubt, that there is a dangerous housing bubble in the US? http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/113/2109/1600/shillergraph.gif
I would prefer answers from unbiased Realtors, thanks. Realtors are given clear talking points designed to defraud their clients out of thousands of dollars. See http://www.realtor.org/home_buyers_and_sellers/its_a_great_time_to_buy_a_home.html
I state the facts. Please don’t use Yahoo! Answers to spread lies and rob people of their life savings.

Wize Guy answers:
Your interpretation of the data does not jibe with that given by many others. So, it is going a bit overboard to accuse Yahoo of playing fast and loose with the facts. In my area, there are several houses that have been on the market for quite a while, but they are way overpriced.

Mandy asks…
how can i post a photo on yahoo real estate?
Im trying to post a photo of my house on yahoo real estate, but its not working. The image uploads but the pic is not visible

Wize Guy answers:
It is supposed to be easy but many people are reporting problems with the photos. One person who is a professional photographer could not get his photos uploaded and he said he does that for a living.
Call 866-562-7219. That Yahoo number is only for paid services but you paid so they will help you. If the photo does not upload today, ask for a rebate of your $75 fee.

Daniel asks…
