Thomas asks…
Do you think there should be certain restrictions of what names babies can be given?
Do you think there should be some sort of rules/laws/restrictions on names that babies can be given or do you think it is entirely the parents choice?
No I am not communist this question is purely to spark debate. I think people should have the choice but try and think more carefully about their choice like “Adolf Hitler” I mean come on!

Linda asks…
Why do parents name their babies weird names?
Parents need to realize that their babies name will help them or hurt them throughout their life. A baby with a strange name, with a strange spelling, will be made fun of, and later in life, people will discriminate against them when they read their job applications.
A Utopia or Atari will be deemed less qualified than a Susan or Elaine. (Same as De’Shaw and Da’Nell versus David and James)
(please, parents, stick to standard spelling of traditional American baby names! Abigail, Susan, Julie, Teresa, James, David, Stanley, Scott, etc)

Wize Guy answers:
I have to agree with the first responder to this question. Parents who name their child/children weird names is the worst thing they could do. I know a family friend who is going to name her baby Anastasia. It’s a pretty name, but it makes me think of the Walt Disney version of Cinderella, where one of the step sister’s names was Anastasia. I don’t understand why people name their children such odd names. There is one celebrity couple, can’t remember who, and they named their child Kyd (pronounced kid). There was another celebrity couple who named their child (now in her early 20s) Peaches and Cream. What the heck are these people thinking? I would be so mad at my parents if they were to name me something weird. I’m so glad I have the name that I have.

James asks…
Seriously, have you had enough of the people naming their babies ghetto names?
I was reading an article about babies born in the New Year. I saw white and black parents naming their kids Quiden, Lawrentayl, Lawyrenzio, you know it.
What is the deal? First of all, why can’t parents spell these names properly? Secondly, why give them names that will hinder them the rest of their life? I just don’t understand. Some of these names are getting more and more bizarre and difficult to spell or decipher too.

Wize Guy answers:
i hate it i can tell a kids race by their name i especially hate black names like lashonte, damonte and so forth. i asked a girl why she named her kids these names and she said they were muslum names and that they mean sometthing . well i am muslum and they are nto muslum names and they do not mean anything. black people get it straight

Mary asks…
Two potentially Japanese sounding names for English babies?
I really like both of these names: Yoshika, which I saw on a gorgeous blonde English singer and I thought was so lovely and folksy, and Hero, inspired by Much Ado About Nothing. However together they both have slightly Japanese connotations and if I used them both then it would definitely sound that way! Do you think that’s a problem for English babies? Which name do you prefer if you had to pick one, and why?

Wize Guy answers:
yoshika, cos it’s awesome.
