I just had my office cleaned by an individual who charged me $50/hr. I thought that was a bit high. I asked friends who use professional cleaning services (eg. Merry Maid or something like that). They mentioned they had their home cleaned for about $12-15/hour.

Why do cleaning services ask that you not be home while they are there?

My grandpa is 86 and still lives alone. This past year his health has really started to decline. He has a nurse come in 3 times a week and my aunt has hired a cleaning services to keep the housework up. They have gone through several cleaning personal, my grandpa is a bit grouchy theses days and I’m sure he gives them a hard time, but they’ve also complained that my aunt was there while they were cleaning and they asked that she not be there. I was wondering if anyone knew why they require this?
