Whats with the Elevator Shaft?

Turner Construction, who supervised the 2000 demolition of the Seattle Kingdome, participated in the post-9/11 Ground Zero clean-up and performed extensive renovations within the World Trade Center towers just prior to 9/11, was in fact performing unspecified renovation work throughout the WTC complex until the very morning of September 11, 2001. The Port Authority of NY/NJ now claims that records describing such work or other projects were destroyed on September 11, 2001. A December 2000 WTC property assessment described required renovation work to be completed within one year, upon steel columns within elevator shafts of both WTC towers that was immediately pending or already underway.

Dallas chooses businessman as next mayor

By JEFF CARLTON, Associated Press Writer Sat Jun 16, 11:31 PM ET

DALLAS – Choosing a wealthy retired businessman over an openly gay city councilman, voters elected Tom Leppert as Dallas mayor Saturday by a wide margin.

Capping a swift rise from political unknown to the top office of the nation’s ninth-largest city, Leppert won the most expensive mayoral race in Dallas history. He received about 58 percent of the vote in the final but still unofficial results of the runoff, beating Ed Oakley by more than 13,000 votes.

“I understand the trust and confidence they’ve placed in me,” said Leppert, 53. “I am eager to fulfill that trust and confidence.”

Oakley fell short of making Dallas the largest city in the country to elect an openly gay mayor.

“I can’t tell you what it’s been like … to serve Dallas, change Dallas and put Dallas on a path of greatness,” he said. “I truly believe I’ve been part of that.”

Leppert, the former CEO of construction giant Turner Corp., had never run for elected office before. He had scant name recognition when he decided late last year to enter the race to replace outgoing Mayor Laura Miller, who was not seeking re-election.

Oakley and Leppert were the top fundraisers before the May 12 election, in which they beat nine other candidates to reach the runoff.

Leppert spent about $1.1 million on the campaign from early May to early June, compared to about $833,000 for Oakley.

The capitalism-hating Left is likely drawing up mass protest plans for Dallas, as we speak. They are probably especially energized with outrage, as Mayor-elect Leppert defeated an openly gay candidate (this interferes with their anti-family values agenda).

Why do 54% of Democrats oppose the Ground Zero mosque?

According to CNN:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/08/11/overwhelming-majority-oppose-mosque-near-ground-zero/

(CNN) – A proposed mosque to be built two blocks from the World Trade Center has little support nationwide, a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll suggests.

According to the new survey out Wednesday, nearly 70 percent of all Americans oppose the controversial plan to build the mosque just blocks away from the solemn site in lower Manhattan while just 29 percent favor the construction.

full report: http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/08/11/rel11a1a.pdf

Broken down by party affiliation, 54 percent of Democrats oppose the plans while 82 percent of Republicans disapprove. Meanwhile, 70 percent of independents said they are against the proposal.

The poll also showed opposition did not vary widely by age.

“Support for the controversial project is slightly higher among younger Americans than older Americans, but even among those under the age of 50, six in ten oppose the plan,” said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

Plans to build the $100 million, 13-story ‘Cordoba House’ three blocks from the site of the attacks on September 11, 2001 have sparked an emotional debate throughout the city. The developer, Sharif El-Gamal, describes the project as an “Islamic community center” that will include a 500-seat performing arts center, a lecture hall, an exhibition space, a swimming pool, a gym, a culinary school, a restaurant and a prayer space for Muslims.

Liberals! Don’t let a majority of Americans dissuade you!!! Hit the streets!!! Burn and destroy something!!!

Muslims need you now more than ever!!!
I am definitely seeing the disconnect between liberals and main stream Democrats.

This would explain how Obama, by embracing the far left wing, has lost so much support from Democrats AND Independents.

Wize Guy answers:

Because there is a huge difference between being a liberal, and being a Democrat.

However the Liberals here on Yahoo do not understand that.

When will Dodgers Stadium be torn down?

The time has come that Los Angeles must do as New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, and Atlanta. Dodgers Stadium needs to be torn down. The construction is 1960′s at its worst. If you are on one level you must stay on that one level. I’ve traveled with family and friends to every Ball Park in the Majors and I like it when I can go down and sit and see the game from different parts of the ball park. Los Angeles deserves better. I really like Petco Park and Turner Field. Mr.McCourt made his money in Construction in Boston so he knows how to build. Tear down Dodgers Stadium.
They can play games at USC, UCLA or the Big A. Dodger Stadium has to go and become modern like Turner Field, Citi Field, Petco, Citizens Bank Park.
Dodger Stadium needs to have a 360 degree view when fans are at the concession stands. The concession stands must face the field and have a view of the action from sight level. Free movement of fans who pay good money must be able to see the game from any level for at least one pitch. Have it facing Downtown Los Angeles. Make getting out easier than it is now. Expand Taxi and Public Transportation and make it more of a Tourist attraction like the Big A is. Put a Theme Park close by.
Modifications will not do. It has to go the way of Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Fulton County Stadium. It has to be torn down. These new parks are the way to go. Travel, see them and you’ll agree.
Please don’t insult my intelligence by mentioning Wrigley Field. Wrigley is a dump that should have been replaced years ago. Stop making comparisons. Wrigley is old construction. Newer is better.

Wize Guy answers:

I suppose it will be torn down when they get a new ballpark, right?

The story
Cher
Doug was driving the car as Caitlin and Cher remained quiet in the back. “It is raining very unclear to see. Many drivers in the cars could get in an accident any second now.” Caitlin smiled.
Cher frowned,”Why do you always give us negative ideas?”
She did not answer back. Cher sighed. The car began to pick up the speed. Doug was driving fast, very fast. Nobody but God could tell how it looked outside the car windows. Cher yelled,”DOUG SLOW DOWN! DOUG!” Doug’s head fell hard on the horn of the car. A girl appeared in front of the car. She was barefoot, wearing a purple dress, her hair was dirty yet it was drenched in rain. She didn’t seem to belong there. As if some creator placed her there. Doug suddenly had cuts over him and was dead. Cher ran to the front of the car to turn the wheel so they wouldn’t hit the girl. The car ran out of gas as it was just about to fall of the dead end. Caitlin told Cher to check out Doug as she went to see the girl closely. Caitlin ran up to this girl in the purple dress. She said,”Hello, are you okay?” The girl appeared with the same cuts as Doug. Caitlin yelled,”ARE YOU OKAY! I CAN HELP YOU!” The girl blew up to flames and her skin was flippped inside out. Cher heard the flames, she turned around and saw Caitlin screaming as the girl was turned inside out. Caitlin ran to the car, she fell and everything became blank. Caitlin wokeup and was in jail for pyscho girls. “Cher? Doug? Where are you guys?” She was pulled by two men out of the jail,”Your time is over.” Caitlin looked around,”CHER! DOUG!” A nurse went over to Caitlin and greeted,”Hi I’m Regina.” “Look, where the hell am I!” “Well, seems you just had your time done at the main jail. Which I happen to work here so I have to go.” Regina walked to the inside of the jail. The rain was still pouring and the night was still dark. Caitlin sat down on the sidewalk and looked up at the sky. “I’M ALONE!!!” She put her head down and began crying. A voice appeared from what seemed the rain………..
“Caitlin, Caitlin everyone seemed to die. Now your alone. And you will eventually die. HA HA HA! You are alone. BYE BYE! GET READY TO DIE!”
Caitlin ran away from the rain even though it wasn’t possible. She yelled,”LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!” Though suddenly she became barefoot and fell. Her face lifted up and blood began to pour on her forehead from the hard sidewalk. “LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE!” Caitlin got back up and continued running. Her head banged against somebody’s house. She couldn’t tell because it was too unclear to know where she went. Caitlin didn’t know what she was doing she opened the door. Her friend Belal was smiling at her from the couch. “Hey Caitlin, nice you visited. You could chill here since the rain is hard here.”
Caitlin answered,”Belal.”
“Ya?” “She’s here in your house, she’s here I can hear her.” “Caitlin, are you alright? Cause you got some pretty bad cut from today.” She looked down and the same cuts were there. “BELAL SHE’S COME TO KILL US ALL! SHE’S COMING!” “WHOSE COMING! WHO IS SHE!” Caitlin ran out drenched from the rain. “Regina, she was wearing purple too! The same blend of purple!” Caitlin ran to the jail and quickly went inside. “WHERE’S REGINA!! I NEED TO TALK TO REGINA!” She slowly walked out,”Oh, it’s you from before.” Caitlin walked to Regina,”Regina, are you her?” She had a confused look on her face,”Whose her?” “That girl.” “Look, let’s just talk about this in my office.” Caitlin followed Regina to her office. They both sat down in blue chairs and near a white round table. Chains were around her office so you could see the prisoners glare as they talked. Regina spoke,”What girl are you talking about?” Caitlin looked her in the eyes,”She was wearing a purple dress just like yours.” “How did she look?”" Caitlin found a picture that looked exactly like the girl she saw on the table. “HER! THIS IS HER!” Regina quickly answered,”That’s my sister! Your a bunch of nonsense! Your as crazy as these slaves in this jail.” Caitlin yelled,”So what if I’m crazy! Most of these people are very smart, but you don’t trust them.” Regina finally said,”Look, I’ll just send my sister over here right now.” She picked up the phone, dialed the number for her cellphone. Regina’s sister picked up and said she’ll be there. Soon Regina’s sister was there. It was Cher smiling at Caitlin. “CHER!” She laughed,”Caitlin, Caitlin everyone seemed to die. Now your alone. And you will eventually die. HA HA HA! You are alone.” Caitlin’s eyes widened,”YOU KILLED THEM! YOUR THE ONE THAT”S BEEN HAUNTING ME!” Regina looked at Cher,”CHER! What is wrong with you? You’ve changed.” Cher smiled,”I’ve changed much, very smart as always Regina. The cuts I’ve gave have scared eve
