Ruth asks…
How can I protest a TOS violation accusation?
I received an e-mail from Yahoo Admin. saying I had violated the TOS. No other info as to what the supposed violation was, etc. I have had a Yahoo acct. since the early 90′s and to my knowledge have never done anything to even remotely resemble a violation of the TOS. I fear someone has hijacked my account and has caused this notification.

Wize Guy answers:
In the violation notice there should be a link to click to appeal this. Ask them to give you the reason. Most likely you will just get the standard computer generated response that the violation will stand.

George asks…
What are interesting art movies? Documentaries, tutorial style, how-tos, or movies with artits as characters?
What are some interesting art movies?
Any style: documentaries, tutorial style, how-tos, movies about artits or with artists as characters…?ANy good movies you know with a focus on art. Please include a little description about them if you can. If not, don’t worry. Thank-you~ <3

Wize Guy answers:
There’s a really old one called “Moulin Rouge” (not the one with Nicole Kidman) that was about Toulouse Lautrec, a French artist. It starred Jose Ferrer.
And there was also an old one about Vincent van Gogh, called “Lust for Life.”
There’s one about a fictional artist, called “Mistral’s Daughter,” which was made for tv.
“Cezanne” is about the artist, Cezanne.
That’s all that come to mind at the moment.

Michael asks…
Why is having more than one profile or account against TOS in internet forums?
How do they know more its not more than one person using that one computer? They don’t even give you a chance to ask before they delete you.
Without a way to prevent you from coming back, why do they even bother with it if your not breaking any other rules?
I had a back-up account because sometimes I wanted to hide from certain people when I posted in certain threads. That was the only reason. Nothing nefarious.

Wize Guy answers:
I think a lot of these rules come about the site trying to protect itself against spammers and self promoters. Spammers often use automated tools to make entries on forums, blog comments and other sites so the provider needs something in their terms and conditions to protect against this behaviour. Questionable self promoters can often create multiple accounts to make it look like a number of people agree with their views and opinions or that they have a large following when they often do not.
Unfortunately, these rules also affect a number of innocent users too. The best thing to do is talk to the provider about the issue to assure them your intentions are genuine.

Lizzie asks…
Has anyone ever gotten an explanation why your Q or A was deleted when there is no apparent violation of TOS?
My question was deleted. I asked YA not to vaguely refer to TOS, but to explain what was wrong with it since I didn’t see how it violated them, but of course, Kathie Smith simply told me it violated TOS, period. Is this response code for ‘this question was too hard or too embarrassing for libs to answer, but we can’t admit that’?

Wize Guy answers:
No, the sissy leftists at Yahoo will always simply hide behind the skirt of their ridiculously vague TOS after “trusted reporters” like Seldon Surak hand you over to the thought police for not being a good soldier and thinking “correctly”.

Susan asks…
How could my account possibly have violated TOS?
I answered a whole 2 questions, lol! My answers didn’t get violations, just my account.
