How do medical schools grade their students pursuing medical degrees?
How do medical schools grade their students pursuing medical degrees?
Also, Is it Pass or Fail? Which Medical schools grade and which ones dont?
Thanks

Wize Guy answers:
Some medical schools give the traditional letter grade. Others just simple pass/fail.. Many more have opted for the Fail/Pass/Near Honors/Honors/High Honors.
As for which ones do what, visit this link for more info:

Good luck

Ken asks…
What medical schools teach the abortion procedure?
Some jackass told me abortion doctors don’t have medical licenses, and no schools teach it.
I just need the names of a couple that do.

Wize Guy answers:
You were talking to a jack-ass. It is a medical procedure that would indeed be taught at ANY accredited medical school! Any doctor who is board-certified as a Gynecologist, and many who are not, have been trained to do this procedure….as part of training in medical school and in subsequent residencies as a med student.
Tell this fool that Harvard Medical School counts it among the procedures it teaches its’ well-trained doctors, as does the University of Virginia, and Johns-Hopkins, to name three of the finest in the country….

Robert asks…
How competitive are medical schools in Australia compared to the US?
I’m an undergraduate student in the US planning on attending a medical school here or possibly in Australia.. does anyone know how the two compare? I will have a degree by the time I am ready to apply to med school so I am interested in the graduate programs there.. does anyone know if med schools in Australia require pre-med courses like the US and if so what are they? Any info you can give me will help, thanks!

Wize Guy answers:
G’day,
Unfortunately you did not mention the area of study that you intend to do for your graduate course. To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. The information abt tuition fee and requirement will be available from the universities’ website. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification. The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year.
Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia

Sandra asks…
How do medical schools inform you about an interview?
My top choice medical school has updated the status of my supplemental application. It has been changed from “under review” to stating that the committee has made a decision and I should expect an official letter in the mail in 30 days.
I’m thinking that if the school wanted to meet for an interview, they would not wait 30 days. How do medical schools inform a candidate of an interview? Is it by mail, email, or phone? What would you make of this? 30 days is a long time to sit in the dark. Thanks for your replies.

Wize Guy answers:
You have either been admitted or declined. You will just have to be patient. It is not a question of an interview.

John asks…
How do medical schools notify you that you have an interview?
I am just wondering how the medical schools will contact me and tell me that I have an interview. E-mail, phone, regular mail?

Wize Guy answers:
The majority of schools still send you a letter advising you to call to schedule your interview. Some may have begun using email, though.
