Lisa asks…

Are there tv shows that help people get a job?

I’m on vacation watching home and garden channel getting all sorts of ideas of what to look for when I buy a home. I pondered the thought that it’s likely more people are looking for a job than a home. Is there some tv program that does a resume makeover or coach interview skills and other job hunting techniques? I’m sure there’s a huge market for it.

Wize Guy answers:

Im sure your right there probably is a huge market for it. All I can think of is probably the apprentice that comes closest to that kind of a show, that teaches people executive skills.

John asks…

does anyone know the name of the exotic chocolate pudding fruit or plant?

that was seen on better homes and gardens tv show on channel seven on the 4th of Jan 2008

Wize Guy answers:

Here’s a Chocolate Pudding Tree: Black Sapote (Diospyros digyna), Black Persimmon:

“The fruit from this tree DOES taste and look like chocolate pudding.”

Forum:

http://forums.permaculture.org.au/viewtopic.php?p=36689

“This fruit is also called chocolate pudding fruit because it makes an excellent pudding that looks and tastes like a fine chocolate mousse. The tree is large and fast frowing. Bears in 3 to 4 years. Easy to grow. Two trees are needed to insure cross pollination.”

BTW , the fruitlovers.com site also shows images of Cocoa or Chocolate Tree (Theobroma cacao) whose seeds are used for making chocolate.

There’s also the Chocolate Plant (Pseuderanthemum alatum):

This article says that Mrs. Margaret Kane, PDG and Horticultural Mentor wrote for Better Homes & Gardens, & she states ” I know I introduced chocolate plant (Pseuderanthemum alatum).”

Good Luck! Hope this is helpful.

Steven asks…

Women: Do artistic and inventive men attract you?

Meaning men with tons of creativity. I just want to know how many other women out there are attracted to these type of men. I like watching home and garden tv sometimes just to be in “awe” of the men making their own furniture and houses. Usually, I end up wanting to decorate the objects for them.
These type of men seem to be secure with themselves and have things to do. They aren’t as much of perverts either.

Wize Guy answers:

They are attractive to me. However, experience shows, nonetheless, to check their criminal history and make no assumptions as in your additional details, until the background check is done

Charles asks…

Whats the name of that girl from Saturday Disney and after that a home and garden show?

Desperately trying to remember the name of this TV personality I had a huge crush on – she was on Saturday Disney around the same time as Shelly Craft i think? and then went to a home and garden show where she would always be wearing shorts, boots, singlet and cowboy hat. Not Suzy Wilks but kind of looks a little like her. If anyone could remind me it would be great, its driving me crazy for some reason.

Wize Guy answers:

There are a couple of possibilities: Melanie Symons or Sara Groen. Melanie did go to one of those home improvement shows I’m pretty sure and Sara went to Beyond Tomorrow and It Takes Two. Hope this helps.

Michael asks…

Why do white people on HGTV always use this phrase?

White people on Home and Garden TV always say they are doing stuff or building so they can “entertain” guests……or that something in there house would be “perfect for entertaining”. Those folks are so fake………., it would seem more natural to me at least to use the phrase “when were hanging out” or “when our friends come over” …..everytime I hear someone white on HGTV say anything about “entertaining” it just burns me down to my bone marrow…….uuuggghhh!!!! or is that just how white people talk? you’d think i would just turn the channel right?, but my wife has this channel on constant rotation.
and for the white folks….dont get all bent out of shape…..there are questions like this all the time……this should be an opened minded Q and A session……and yes i am the speech police

Wize Guy answers:

dude…people stop saying things like “friends coming over” and “hanging out” once they’re old enough to be on shows that are aired on that channel. My parents say it all the time.
