Question for ghetto people: When somebody says “Hey, wuts good” or “What’s poppin, Bee”, how should I respond?

These ghetto kids approached me and they said, “Wuts poppin, Bee”, and I just said, “Oh, Hi” and they laughed at me. How should I have responded?

I did not grown up and was not raised in hip Hop Culture, so I’m not use to this culture.

(Sorry, to ask this in this section but I think that a lot of people here would know what to say.)

Well i’m from brooklyn n.y but reside n orlando florida. So i have some ghetto n me. There r a few phrases that my friends say 2 me such as: “wat up doggy”, “wat up son”, “Wassup my nicca”, “Wats crackn lackn”…..lol funny i kno. I respond with: “chilln chilln”,”i’m chilln” or u can say “wassup, nuttn same sh!t different day”. It can b really u listen 2 otha people talk n slang so that u can pik up on those lines.

How should I respond, what phrase should I use?

First, What makes these kids Ghetto? Where they live, or how they dress or how they act? Ghetto is an area of the city not a culture. They were expressing urban hip hop culture.

Now to answer your question, if they ask “What’s poppin’ B?” Then you come back with something like; “It’s good dawg or (homie) where you at?” Or even maybe something like; “It’s like woa dawg how you livin’?” You could even say something like; “You got it Fam or (peeps) what’s happenin?” Just adapt to the culture but don’t over do it with hand gestures and attitude. Just be confident in what you say, andit will all work out for you.
