yamaha motorcycles?
guys vs girls buying yamaha and incendents

Wize Guy answers:
When my wife bought her first bike in 2001. It was a ’99 650 V-Star. The guy had put the bike up for sale and moved away for a work related reason….Sharp loaded with all of the accessories…. She made the dealership call him on his cell phone in another state and make him a counteroffer of $500 less….He was tight for money and did the deal……When it came to move up she put an ad in the paper with all the info and a price…guy calls and offers her less…..she hangs up on him…..he calls again and offers a little more she hangs up again…..next day he calls and arranges to bring the money……..She then took her money and offered a local police officer acquaintance the pay off on his two year old custom 1100 V-Star. With a lowering kit, Cobra pipes, special edition floorboards, stingray seat, drag-bars… At the time he was trying to buy a new truck and needed to get out from under the bike note so she got it for what he owned the bank. I would say my wife got the better deal on all three transactions.
thanks
Rider

Ruth asks…
Do YAMAHA MOTORCYCLES HAVE A POOR CUSTOMER REALATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT?
is it real that yamaha motorcycles have poor CRM?and the spare parts are bit cost?.they are opening bike stations in ten major cities including hyderabad .so, yamaha will have a come back with its 125cc yamaha gladiator SS & RS?

Wize Guy answers:
Yamaha Motor Corp is a huge company. Like most big companies they can seem a bit distant from the end-user.
I own a 23′ Yamaha twin engine jetboat as well as 5 motorcycles and a quad.
The products are terrific and if you maintain them properly, they will give you years of enjoyment. If you fail to maintain them and then try to look to the manufacturer to resolve the problem you created, then you may find yourself in a tough spot.
They do offer a good Warranty program for many of their products. If you beleive in Warranties, then I suggest you consider one.
Their spare parts are not really that expensive compared with the other major manufacturers. If you use the internet to your advantage you can find Yamaha parts at a reasonalbe cost. There are also many aftermarket suppliers making parts for Yamaha products.
If you do have a reason to contact their customer service people, just treat them as you would like to be treated – fairly, and I think you’ll get the response you need.
I always have.

Linda asks…
who knows an honest mechanic that works on Yamaha motorcycles?
I live in the Fort Myers, FL area and have a 1100 Yamaha V – Star.

Wize Guy answers:
Is this regarding a maintenance or troubleshooting? I live in Orlando and used orlando Yamaha Kawasaki (www.orlandoyk.com) when I first purchased my V Star 650 few years ago…
If this is regarding a maintenance issue I can help you out

Donna asks…
How are yamaha motorcycles designed?
I am very fascinated by yamaha motorcycles. How are they designed and who designs them? Is it a small group or team or a big number of people?
Would it even be possible for an American to someday design them?
I’m learning Japanese and am going to Japanese when I graduate as well

Wize Guy answers:
Some of Yamaha’s bikes are styled (and assembled) in Italy. Vehicle design is a subset of industrial design – you will need this education as well as Japanese and/or Italian.
