i am looking for the phone number for the American Medical Association. The place to report misconduct of medical personnnel. Does anyone happen to know this phone number?

Wize Guy answers:

You do that through your state’s medical board. Google “state name” and medical board. Should lead you right to their web site. Look for the “complaint” section, or something similar.

The link is for the complaints section of the Texas Medical Board.

Maria asks…

How do I contact the American Medical Association?

I am looking for a means to contact the American Medical Association with some specific physician complaints about acts of incompetencyy/negligence

Wize Guy answers:

The AMA is the wrong venue. They will do nothing. Start with county medical society and state society. Better yet get an attorney if you are claiming malpractice.

Donna asks…

Who funds the American Medical Association?

I’m doing a project for my US Government class and need to know who funds the American Medical Association?

I tried to look on the website but i could not find anything.

Wize Guy answers:

The American Medical Association owns a “coding” business that makes them mega bucks in the area of billing for medical procedures.
The majority of practicing Physicians do NOT belong to the AMA. The biggest group of Doctors who are members are in the academic field. Fewer than half of docs belong (dues are $600 a yr)
The AMA does NOT represent practicing physicians.

Daniel asks…

Is the American Medical Association completely daft?

The American Medical Association has run ads in support of President Obama’s health care plan for months. But why is the same association simultaneously helping fund a massive attack campaign to kill the bill, which it previously funded?

America, what is going on?

Wize Guy answers:

Americans dont really have a clue what is really going on. But I agree the AMA is pretty ambiguous
