. Here is info from the wiki site:
“….In 2006, the Securities and Exchange Commission began investigating the conduct of United Health’s management and directors, as did the Internal Revenue Service and prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, who have subpoenaed documents from the company. The investigations came to light after a series of probing stories in the Wall Street Journal in May 2006, discussing apparent backdating of hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of stock optionsby United Health management. The backdating apparently occurred with the knowledge and approval of the directors, according to the Journal. Major shareholders have filed lawsuits accusing former New Jersey governor Thomas Kean and UHC’s other directors of failing in their fiduciary duty.[1][2] On 15 October 2006, Dr. McGuire was forced to resign, and relinquish hundreds of millions of dollars in stock options.

The American Chiropractic Association has filed a national class action lawsuit against ACN, ( American Chiropractic Network) which is owned by United Healthcare and administers chiropractic benefits, and United Healthcare for alleged practices in violation of the federal RICO act. ” …
…The Wall Street Journal say Goldman/Sacks just UPgraded the UNH stock. I see it bottomed out around $45.
I think it’s a typical large company. They use their imagination with their book-keeping. You’re nothing but a number, BUT if you behave yourself, you’ll make some $$. .

Does united health group give an employment urine test?

I have a job interview tomorrow and would like to know if united health group gives a urine test for employment.

Wize Guy answers:

Usually, employers do not administer urine exams on the day of the interview. If you are a viable candidate after the interview, they will schedule one for you (or ask you to schedule one at the lab of their choice). They do have the right but they must inform you first. You have the right to refuse the exam however, this could affect your chances of being hired.

Is Manager position at United Health Group Information systems (UHGIS) a good option?

I’m being offered a manager position at UHGIS. Would ike to know the hierarchy structure at the company too.

Wize Guy answers:

United Health Group is a very large and successful health insurance company. They had sales last year of 87.1 billion and profits of $3.82 billion. So I think that it is a good company. There is a long article about them on wikipedia.com which you will find interesting. I am sure the hierarchy is like every other big company.

William asks…

Does anyone know if you can make more in Claims or Customer Service at United Health Group?

Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Wize Guy answers:

I worked at an insurance company for a while in customer service and I heard the pay might be slightly better than the claims department of course in claims you can usually move up a little easier than in customer service. I mean move up as in processing more high dollar claims (thus getting paid more). The thing about the customer service I worked in was that people would get so sick of mean customers they would try to get out to go to claims and since the turnover rate was so high in the CS dept it was really hard to get out. I would start off in claims if I were you.
