Timber floor floods may be difficult to restore simply because timber floors can cup and bow when they are flooded. Simply putting a blower on the surface of the timber floor would in some cases not be sufficient to restore the floor. This is why it is important to use a machine called the injectidry.

This injectidry works by placing multiple suction plates on the wood floor, which extracts the moisture out of the timber floor. Typically you will place this on top of the timber floor for a period of 3-4 days or more. A dehumidifier installed in the center of the room will suck the moisture that has been put into the air enabling a faster dry down time.

It is important to note that quite a few wood floors these days are floating timber floors that have been mounted on top of a concrete floor. In these situations it may not be worth attempting to dry the floor since water can get stuck under the floor. In this case it may be impossible to take out the water with the Injectidry.

In most cases this system would be suited for expensive timber floor installations. The injectidry would usually cost around $200 upwards per day to hire. This cost may be cost less than replacement. When doing a cost benefit analysis it is important to consider the replacement cost and the cost of re sanding and sealing. It is important to note that the floors may need to be re-sanded even after using the inject dry.

The timber floors sometimes dry naturally. However it may be important to seek professional advice from a credible water restoration business to conduct an inspection. A credible water damage restoration business can direct to whether it is worth using the Injectidry System or not.
