[I:http://yozing.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/MattParkman22.jpg]Quiche is broadly considered a French dish but it infact originated in Germany. In German Kuchen means cake and thats how the word Quiche originated. Quiche has now spread to other countries and is a well liked dish the world over.

Following the 2nd world war, the dish got famous in UK, and in the US in the 1950′s. Originally it was mostly a vegetarian recipe. Improvisations to the recipe now feature a array of ingredients including meat like bacon, ham, or shellfish.

INGREDIENTS 1 round pie crust unsweetened Two cups of broccoli florets One onion that is scraped and also chopped One tablespoon of olive oil 1 cup of shredded cheese 4 eggs 1 1/2 cups of whipping cream One pinch of powdered nutmeg Salt and Pepper

DIRECTIONS Set off by making the crust for the purpose of blind cooking. Ensure to fit this crust to a tartlet pan of ten inches and later pierce through this with fork tines at around twenty places. Then place this pan in a freezer for about twenty min whilst you preheat the oven to a temperature of 400F.(When you put the crust in a freezer, it inhibits it from sparkling or slipping during baking)

After that you can take the crust and place it straight in to your hot oven cooking it for about 12 min till it becomes a nice golden color. Remove this from the oven and let it cool for around 12 minutes. You can later turn your oven down to roughly 375F.

After that the broccoli could be steamed for three minutes in a microwave. Make sure it is just about a little tender. See to it that it is not too steamed since you might lose the taste of the vegetable.

Preheat the olive oil on a non-stick small skillet at a average flame. Then put in the onion chopped to cook, stir it sporadically to make certain the onion is soft enough which could be roughly 5 min or a little more.

Spread the onions and the steamed broccoli evenly on to the lower portion of the chilled crust. Shower a bit of cheese on top. Take another bowl, whisk the whipped cream, eggs, nutmeg and the pinch of pepper and salt together until it is blended well. Place this mixture on top of the vegetables and cheese. Rest the pan in to the oven and cook it till it is done for around 40 minutes. Your meal is ready to serve up.
