As for, $4 per gallon of gasoline, i have recently become interested in the subject of the strength of an HHO Gas Generator For those not regular with the term, an HHO Gas generator is a device which allegedly converts the hydrogen from water into fuel that can be burned by a vehicle–thus saving greatly on gasoline costs.
So I looked for hours on-line to find out if an HHO Gas Generator would work. As you can credibly guess, at this point, I have not yet tested building my own HHO Gas Generator. Here’s how my on-line search went.
I went to my first site on the subject, which called it “How to construct an HHO Gas Generator.” The main thrust of the site can be summed up in one sentence: “Find a guide online using Google.” I’m not kidding; this guy did a whole article that essentially recommended you look on-line for a guide. Nothing helps there.
My bay for a working HHO Gas Generator continued. Later i found several site much better. Simply people insisting that they work and please send “X” amount of their funds to find out how to do it.
I did finally find many videos on You Tube that showed how to build an HHO Gas Generator, and most made the technology appear more plausible. The projects still look like something I can plausibly do myself with little hassle or money.
As I continued my look to determine if there is more truth or hype to the subject of the HHO gas generator, I found several sites of nothing but testimonials. First, apparently Mike Allen at the democratic Mechanics website says his experiments show no noticeable difference in a car with an HHO Gas Generator and one without one. However, he acknowledged that he has a friend who is as technically-adept as himself who said he is “actually receiving some consistent results-fuel-economy improvements to the tune of 10 to 12 percent on diesel trucks pulling trailers.”
Strangely, Allen dismissed this as merely a placebo effect–in effect accusing him of imagining the results. I’m not so sure–especially given the huge number of seemingly-honest people online, with no product to sell, who insist they’ve seen positive results. At this point, I’m on the verge of trying it myself. I have small to lose–but a much more fuel-efficient car (not to mention environmentally friendly car) to gain if my HHO Gas Generator does certainly work.

Please avoid the implicit assumption that carbon based energy is a realistic long term, >10 years, solution. We are at peak oil now. Easy to mine UK coal is limited and has difficult to manage logistical and waste issues. Bio-mass/fuel would mean bringing set-asside land back into production with big environmental impact, and make domestic food more expensive (and after peak oil/climate change hits then other countries will be looking to their own needs rather than exporting to us)

I honestly think experience can't be beat. If you have a thousand dollars or so, get an old beat up car, and start restoring it. As far as schools, I would recommend Wyoming Tech because of some of the friends I have that have gone there, and what they do now. There are lots of good schools out there, but it really does come down to experience when you're wanting to do custom work. ASE certification is out there, but that applies a lot more to stock repair than it does performance, although the ASE certifications are not bad to have.
You don't use a motor (a driver) for a Wind turbine. The wind turbine uses the energy of the wind (as in a windmill) to drive a generator.
Go to a car dump and obtain an alternator. Connect it up to the shaft of the wind turbine and electricity should be produced.
A 3 to 4 -foot diameter wheel should be plenty big enough for an alternator which will put out power at slow speeds (as when your car is idling in neutral, it continues to charge the battery).
We are getting closer to such equipment but you will have to go to Europe for the technology. The States are 5 years behind when it comes to anaerobic digesters and fermenters.
Small farms are using them now but they haven't worked all the bugs out yet to make it really efficient. Still you can only create so much energy from such little waste.

Wind farms are the best example of wind energy. These are farms where 20 or more turbines are erected to catch the wind, turn an electric motor, and create electricity. (See the 1st link below.)
The greatest PRO is that the cost of wind produced energy is LOWER than electrical energy produced by diesel or oil. It is comparable with the cost of electricity produced by natural gas; but more expensive than electricity produced from nuclear fuel. Other "pro" wind issues are that it is non-polluting, takes up very little ground space, and is quiet.
The greatest "CON" is that wind blows intermittently–that is it isn't always available, and we want electricity to be always available. The other issue is that the wind blows best off shore, and in the Great Plains of the US, but the energy is used where the people live. This means that building the needed transmission lines from where the wind blows to where it is needed is costly. To resolve that problem, wind farms are now only built where there is excess capacity on the existing electric grid, but soon there won't be enough places to build new wind farms. The only other "con" is that you can see wind turbines; where most other means of producing electricity is contained in a small area.
Yes they do work i have a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT 5 speed manual and i get roughly 25 mpg normally. Recently I HAVE made a hydrogen converter. I took a quart jar and 2 stainless steel rods, about 20 stainless steel washers and stainless steel Nuts, and a plastic lid and plastic separator on the bottom. (THEY CANT TOUCH) i ran a 10 amp wire thats connected to my power windows fuse which i dont have them but there is a fuse for them ( you need a fuse thats only on when the engine is)
You mix 3 cups water with 1 cup of alcohol with 3 table spoons of baking soda and have a spout on top of the jar and run that into you air hose and once you start y our engine it will create the gas and lately ive been getting roughly 36 mph and my little 4 cylinder engine just TAKES off with me and is alot quieter.
knightmascara every 8 year old knows that fossils fuels are going to run out in less than 100 years fossil fuels are made from the remains of plants and animals compressed over millions of years but we aren’t giving natures own way of making fossil fuels enough time so fossil fuels are rapidly depleting and most likely fossil fuels will run out seeing how fast earths population is growing already oil and fuel prices are on the rise and soon enough we wont have them anymore
Alternative energy can be very dear but with the proper tools and coaching, anyone can construct a correct homemade solar power system.
